"Get your dreams just right..."

Mom and I have just returned (and recovered?) from the Spring Quilt Market in Salt Lake City and what an experience. Not only did I get to got to Market for the first time but I got to spend a great five days with my Mom... who was a total trooper by the way! Thanks MOM!

{ Mom and Me in the at Spring Market}

"Get your dreams just right..." is one of my favorite lines in one of my favorite songs of the moment from the Counting Crows "Up all Night" and it sort of sums everything up. I love what I do and have big dreams about my future in this marvelous quilty business!

Being a total rookie I had a picture in my mind of what to expect first time out but I wasn't spot on, but that can be a good thing don't you think? Surprise is the spice of life! Just about all of the sage advice I received was "just wait until you're here for a few markets!".... And being that I trust my friends, I'm going to dream even bigger dreams because looking back at the whirlwind, Market was a success. I sold patterns (enough to keep me under the 50lb suitcase limit at the airport when I returned home), collected business cards from my new awesome contacts, met distributors (Yea!), chatted with magazine people and made a whole bunch of GREAT NEW FRIENDS and had a great time!

In this bloggy electronic world we so often chat it up with people we have never met in person so when the quilting world converges together it's like catching up with old friends. Brenda of the Acorn Quilt and Gift Company, Elizabeth of Late Bloomer Quilts and Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs are just some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. In a category all her own is the super fantabulous Pam of Pam Kitty Morning who made me laugh every time we ran into each other. I can't wait to see you all at Market in Houston!

Now onto the new patterns! If I tap some of you on the sholder for some more sage advice, don't be surprised... OH! and by the way, look for me in the Fall issues of McCalls Quick Quilts and Quilts n' More! HOOO-rah!
